MacKenzie has spent the past 5 years in a military uniform so she had no idea what looked good on her body.  MacKenzie met her husband-to-be Ryan while stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego.  Since Ryan was being deployed to Afghanistan the couple decided to have a “courtroom” wedding.  Because they were never able to have a proper wedding due to their differing tours of deployment, the couple decided to renew their vows and have the wedding of their dreams.

For the legal, pre-deployment wedding, MacKenzie wore a $30 ivory dress and a cardigan. For the real wedding, she wanted to go BIG and be the fairy princess she had always dreamed of. Because MacKenzie was so petite the big ball gowns were swallowing her up. I showed MacKenzie she could still look like a princess in a crystal encrusted fit to flare gown by James Clifford (J1825). www.jamescliffordcollection.com

MacKenzie was an absolute sweetheart! She was so petite and feminine that it was hard for me to visualize her wearing a military uniform. She quickly let me know not to judge her by her size; big things sometimes come in small packages! I was happy to give her the “princess-look” that she wanted, but in a silhouette that better suited her size. Thank you MacKenzie and your husband for your service in the military!

MacKenzie is wearing an Erin Cole fingertip veil lined with crystals (3388/54) that delicately frames her dewy face. www.erincole.com

These crystal and pearl earrings by Thomas Knoell (“Jacquelyn”) were a perfect compliment to her fairy tale dress and her sentimental pearl necklace. www.ThomasKnoell.com

The color of MacKenzie’s bouquet complimented the lavender tones in her make up and I incorporated the antique pendant from her grandmother as a special accent piece.
